ICT ON SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: CHALLENGES AND SOLUTION

This research aims to identify the challenges faced by teachers in EFL classrooms and provide solutions to overcome them. This research is qualitative research. The participant in this research was an English teacher at SMAN 1 Sawahlunto. The researchers collected the data from the interview. The researcher's investigation revealed the successful integration of technology, such as projectors, PowerPoint, and videos, into an English classroom, enhancing language assessment through quizzes. Two prominent challenges in English learning were identified: the lack of vocabulary and listening skills. Solutions include utilizing applications such as Memrise, Quizlet, and Duolingo, Cake application and English Listening Test application.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tantangan yang dihadapi guru di kelas EFL dan memberikan solusi untuk mengatasinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah seorang guru bahasa Inggris di SMAN 1 Sawahlunto. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dari wawancara. Investigasi peneliti mengungkapkan keberhasilan integrasi teknologi, seperti proyektor, PowerPoint, dan video, ke dalam kelas bahasa Inggris, sehingga meningkatkan penilaian bahasa melalui kuis. Dua tantangan utama dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris teridentifikasi: kurangnya kosakata dan keterampilan mendengarkan. Solusinya antara lain dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi seperti Memrise, Quizlet, dan Duolingo, aplikasi Cake dan aplikasi English Listening Test.
